Timeline of the final Japanese MEGA era Pokémon TCG releases, from Aura Seeker on 27 November to the new ex series in spring

Mega Glimmora ex reportedly joins Aura Seeker as the MEGA era nears its end

PokeBeach reported yesterday that Mega Glimmora ex and Floatzel ex are both in Aura Seeker, the Japanese set due on 27 November. Pokémon hasn't shown either card yet, so treat this as unconfirmed until it does. If PokeBeach is right, every Mega Evolution card planned before the MEGA series ends in Japan is now known.

Aura Seeker's four Megas

According to PokeBeach, Aura Seeker has four Mega Evolution Pokémon ex: Mega Lucario Z ex, Mega Absol Z ex, Mega Garchomp Z ex and Mega Glimmora ex. There are no pictures of the Glimmora or Floatzel cards yet. The 27 November release date itself is official.

What comes after it in Japan

  • MEGA x MEGA Parade, 19 February 2027. Japan's yearly High Class Pack, starring Mega Raichu X ex and Mega Raichu Y ex. PokeBeach expects it to be the last set in the MEGA series.
  • MEGA Attack Special Set, 19 March 2027. A boxed product that PokeBeach says will cost ¥3,960 in Japan. Nobody has seen what's inside yet, and PokeBeach thinks it will include Mega Attack Rare promos.
  • The ex★ series, spring 2027. Pokémon showed this new series' logo on its Japanese card site on 31 August. PokeBeach expects Mega Evolution Pokémon to be left behind once it starts. Pokémon hasn't said that.

The Megas that might never get a card

PokeBeach counts 16 Mega Evolutions that have never been printed on a physical card. Three of them, Mega Pinsir, Mega Medicham and Mega Banette, go all the way back to X & Y and Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.

Space is tight. Mega Attack Rares already known from MEGA x MEGA Parade include Mega Greninja ex at 208/178 and Mega Rayquaza ex at 218/178, so only a few numbers are left in that run. The March special set is the other place a missing Mega could still turn up.

What this means for English cards

English sets usually land a few months after the Japanese ones. Aura Seeker's English version is reportedly Flowing Fists, due on 5 February 2027, though Pokémon hasn't confirmed that. There's no English name or date yet for MEGA x MEGA Parade or the March set.

At PokePals

If you'd like to try a High Class Pack before MEGA x MEGA Parade arrives, we have loose Japanese Mega Dream booster packs in stock, along with the Japanese Abyss Eye booster box. On the English side, the Delta Reign booster box is out this Friday, 6 November. For more on Aura Seeker, see our posts on the set's reveal and Blastoise and the alternate art Mega Lucario Z ex.
