Japanese Aura Seeker booster pack with Mega Lucario Z ex, out 27 November

Blastoise Revealed for Aura Seeker, Plus an Alternate Art Mega Lucario Z ex Promo

Blastoise is the latest card shown from Aura Seeker, the Japanese set out on 27 November. It was revealed in Traditional Chinese on 30 October, and PokeBeach has translated it. Pokémon Hong Kong and Taiwan also showed two boxed products with new promos, including alternate art versions of Blastoise and Mega Lucario Z ex.

The Blastoise card

It's a Stage 2 Water Pokémon with 170 HP. In PokeBeach's translation, its Ability, Torrential Pump, makes attacks from your Water Pokémon do 30 more damage to your opponent's Benched Pokémon. The effect doesn't stack if you have more than one in play. Its attack, Heavy Splash, costs three Water Energy and does 140 damage. Names and wording can change in the English version.

The card also links up with this week's McDonald's mix-up. Pokémon accidentally showed next year's McDonald's cards, and they include a new Squirtle with an attack that hits a Benched Pokémon. PokeBeach thinks it's Blastoise's Squirtle from Aura Seeker.

The Hong Kong and Taiwan promos

PokeGuardian reports two products coming out in Hong Kong and Taiwan on 4 December:

  • Aura Seeker Value Pack (NT$2,230), with a single card display case and a bonus promo pack containing alternate art Mega Lucario Z ex and Blastoise.
  • Aura Seeker 10 Pack Plus (NT$594), with a cardboard deck box and a bonus promo pack containing stamped Treecko, Grovyle and Bellsprout.

What about English? (not confirmed)

PokeBeach expects the alternate art Blastoise to be one of the four prerelease promos for Flowing Fists, the English set based on Aura Seeker, which it reports is out on 5 February 2027. It also thinks the alternate art Mega Lucario Z ex could end up in a spring tin. Pokémon hasn't announced either, so treat both as guesses for now.
